U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman appeared before Congressional Committees this week to push for both Trade Promotion Authority and give an update on progress in the Trans Pacific Partnership Talks. National Farmers Union is very concerned that momentum for both is building. Vice President of Programs Chandler Goule says there are many problems if TPA is granted.
Goule says they’ve talked to several high level officials in order to fight back against both TPA and TPP.
Goule says they’re urging Congress to vote against both TPP and TPA because there’s lack of transparency, there’s no way of knowing who’s sitting at the table and Congress signing away their right to weigh in on trade deals to one person.
