National Farmers Union members at their convention this week approved their policy for the year. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says their top concern is the depressed state of the ag economy and the need to improve farm income.

He says they approved a special order of business calling for a major reform to the nation’s dairy policy to help address the economic crisis faced by dairy producers.

Hansen says with all the fake commodity products on the market, there’s a need for national truth in labeling rules.

Hansen says they also discussed farm stress and will continue to work on programs to help address those concerns.
