Michels says he got the chance to go onboard an almost identical submarine being built in the same shipyard………

Michels says the legislature will be asked to help start a commissioning committee that will be the contact point between the state and the submarine………

The submarine will cost about two point six billion dollars, and should launch in 2018.
The name has historic bearing for the Navy, as the battleship USS South Dakota was one of the most decorated in the Pacific Ocean during World War Two.
