Maryland’s first year in the Big Ten Conference will find their women’s basketball team at the top of the pre-season league rankings.

The Terps top both the Coaches Poll and the Media ratings. Michigan State and Iowa rate second and third for the coaches while Michigan State and Nebraska chase Maryland in the media poll.

Both polls agree that Minnesota’s Rachel Banham is the pre-season Big Ten Player of the Year. Iowa’s Samantha Logic and Nebraska’s Rachel Theriot are also on the All League squad.
