New Water Rules to Become Effective Soon

In just eight days, new water rules from the Environmental Protection Agency and Corps of Engineers become effective, barring any court injunction. South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says the “Waters of the US” rule is flawed, because it takes authority away from states to manage their own waters.

Rounds says “WOTUS” is so far reaching, it could even prevent mowing of weeds from ditches without a permit.

Rounds says EPA officials have misrepresented support for their rule, as most of the comments they received were actually from opponents and not supporters, which they claimed.

Rounds is hoping there will be a ruling from the courts stopping the EPA and the Corps from moving forward with WOTUS.
