Several names have been mentioned for U.S. Secretary of Agriculture under the Trump administration. One is Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller who’s been serving on Trump’s ag advisory committee. He says if the President-elect asks him to take the job heading USDA, he is interested in it.
Miller says if appointed as Ag Secretary, his top priorities would be to kill WOTUS and then fix trade deals such as the Trans Pacific Partnership and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Miller says it will take some time for Trump and his transition team to get all the cabinet appointments in place.
Other possible candidates include: Bruce Rastetter of Iowa, former Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman, Sam Brownback of Kansas, former Texas Governor Rick Perry, former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, Charles Herbster of Nebraska, as well as former USDA Deputy Secretary Chuck Connor.
