Chester area farmer Keith Alverson has just been elected by the South Dakota Corn Grower’s Board to serve as their President for 2014.  Alverson says two major priorities are working for implementation of the new farm bill and monitoring the renewable fuel standard volume obligation decision.

Alverson says other priorities include state transportation needs and concerns.

He says having a well working and modern up to date transportation system is critical for corn growers getting their product to market.

Joining Alverson on the Corn Grower’s board is Troy Knecht of Houghton as Vice President and Doug Noem of Bryant as secretary treasurer.
