The Iowa Transportation Commission approved funding of a little more than four-point-eight million dollars for projects in Sioux City to prepare a business park for a new meat packing plant. Sioux City economic development specialist, Chris Myres (My-ers), told the commission how this project got its start….

Myres says Triumph Foods has a plant in St. Joseph, Missouri, and plans to open the new plant in Sioux City….

He says the roadway improvements to the Bridgeport West Industrial Park will allow the company to get going on the plant.

The Transportation Commission grant is from the Revitalize Our Sound Economy or RISE program and will cover up to 80 percent of the cost. The city will pay the remaining 20 percent.
