More map drawing will be on the agenda of the River Basin Natural Resource District Oversight Task Force this week.

The group, set up by legislation passed by this year’s South Dakota legislature meets tomorrow (Friday) in Pierre.

Committee Chair, Kim Vanneman of Ideal, says they will begin looking over potential outlines of new natural resource districts…

The law sets up natural resource districts, based on river drainage basins rather than county lines.

Vanneman says they want to make people more aware of the coming changes…

Vanneman says they are aware of the emotional nature of water management and drainage…

The task force has been authorized for at least two years to help manage the transition to the new management outline.
