Tom Curran has been named Project Manager at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton. He succeeds long time manager Dave Becker, who retired in July.

Curran, formerly manager at Ft Randall Dam, says Gavins Point, as the lowest dam in the system, gets more attention….

Curran says he will oversee continuing upgrades to the power plant……

The dam is currently releasing about sixty thousand cubic feet per second. Curran says those high flows will continue for a few months….

Curran says those releases can be adjusted as needed for condition changes either upstream or downstream.
