Kerry Froese of Las Animas, Colorado has been elected as the new President for Women Involved in Farm Economics. Froese says one of her group’s priority issues is making Congress aware of the economic woes being seen in agriculture and the need to address low commodity prices across all sectors of the industry.
She says other priorities include push back against government over-regulation of agriculture and educating consumers about the importance of biotechnology.
Froese is hopeful President Trump will follow through on his promise to get rid of the EPA and Army Corps Waters of the U.S. rule.
Froese says the EPA never listened to the concerns of agriculture over WOTUS and went ahead with the regulation anyway.
