New Underwood, South Dakota native and former Senate staffer Dani Hanson, has been named policy advisor for the South Dakota Department of Agriculture. Hanson says there are several federal issues she’s working on including highway funding and rail issues. However, the biggest is the Waters of the U.S. rule set to take effect Friday.
In her policy position Hanson will also focus on trade and the upcoming trade agreements.
Hanson is also working with State Agriculture Secretary Lucas Lentsch to prepare for the state legislative session that gets underway in January.
Hanson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Social Science from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.
