A new pay proposal for Nebraska prison employees will be sent to union officials.

State Corrections Director Scott Frakes told a special legislative committee the proposal will come one month ahead of the normal negotiation process. . .

The decision comeson the heels of Corrections deciding to give 500-dollar bonuses to employees in positions of high vacancy and high turnover rates.

Frakes says he hates to play favorites. . .

The Ricketts Administration will propose a new pay rate for corrections officials.
