Wayne area cattle producer Troy Stowater is the new President for the Nebraska Cattlemen Association. He says two of the state level policies he’ll be carrying forward in his new position are aimed at addressing volatility in the cattle markets and achieving property tax relief.

Stowater says his Association has received great support for agriculture from Governor Pete Ricketts, especially in the area of trade expansion.

He says on the national level, they’re hoping to work with President-elect Donald Trump to increase trade opportunities.

Stowater is hopeful 2017 will be a profitable year for the cattle industry following the losses producers faced in 2016.
