California cattle producer Kevin Kester is the new President of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and outlined goals for the organization in 2018 at their recent convention. Kester says as part of that members passed official policy designed to protect consumers and the beef industry from fake meat and misleading labels. He says two of those companies have started up near his ranch in California.

He says their policy also directs NCBA to work with the federal government to define clear regulatory jurisdiction over synthetic products. Kester says another goal for the group is to expand markets and get a farm bill that amply funds ag research.

Kester says NCBA will also continue to work with the Trump Administration to advance regulatory reform.

Kester says they want the 2015 WOTUS rule fixed, adjustments to the CERCLA emissions reporting rule and elimination of abuse with the Endangered Species Act.
