A new group formed last week held its first meeting. The Minnesota Dairy Growth Alliance Steering Committee met and heard a report on a University of Minnesota report on dairy’s economic impact on the state. Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Pat Lunemann serves on the panel. He says the report translates the economic impact to over $ 20,000 per cow.

Lunemann says the impact is felt even more in the state’s communities.

The report unveiled to the Steering Committee was done by Dr. Marin Bozek of the University of Minnesota.
