Cattlemen’s Heritage officials are planning on building a $325 million beef processing plant in Mills County in Southwest, Iowa. They hope to break ground in 2022 and start operating in 2023. Founder and Owner Chad Tentinger says they’ll process 1500 head a day and generate a robust economic impact for the region.

He says the site located South of Council Bluffs and near Interstate 29 is the best place for them locate their facility.

Tentinger says part of what prompted them to proceed with their project is the need for more processing capacity.

Tentinger says they’ll be processing cattle from Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.
