A new program has been launched at the Nebraska State Penitentiary aimed at giving inmates the skills they need…both in life and in work…to leave and never come back.
Former Kiewit Construction CEO Ken Stinson says 2-and-a-half million dollars has been pledged to bring Defy Ventures to the prisons, and turn around lives

Stinson says an integral part of the strategy of Defy is to turn around thinking and prepare prisoners for life on the outside.
Inmate Scott Shannon is ready to give it a try

Defy Ventures is called an entrepreneurship, employment and character development program.
It will be run at the Nebraska State Penitentiary and the Omaha Correctional Center with the possibility of expanding to other Nebraska prisons.
