A new farm-to-market pilot project will bring locally grown produce to smaller grocery stores across Minnesota.  Kathy Draeger with University of Minnesota Extension says the first project will center around garlic.  Big Stone County farmer Russ Swenson will transport his homegrown garlic to Bonnie’s Hometown Grocery in Clinton. From there, a Wadena-based wholesaler will drop off the store’s shipment and fill the truck back up with the garlic and bring back to their warehouse for distribution

Draeger says she hopes the program will expand and they can begin distributing Minnesota grown potatoes and strawberries.
