The Nebraska Department of Roads has formed a group to figure out how to allocate funding for county bridge improvements.

State Bridge Engineer Mark Traynowicz says 40-million dollars are in the matching program.

The matching program is part of the Transportation Innovation Act, which became law last week.

The selection of bridge projects will likely occur next year.

The County Bridge Match Program is set to end in 2023.
