New Dietary Guidelines Skips Lean Meat

New Dietary Guidelines Skips Lean Meat

Friday the Dietary Guideline Advisory Committee issued their recommendation to USDA and Health and Human Services endorsing the Mediterranean style diet that promotes higher consumption of red meat. The Committee however left lean meat out of what it considers a healthy dietary pattern. South Dakota Cattlemen’s President Todd Wilkinson says the Advisory Committee members are inconsistent and not being realistic.

Wilkinson says it’s obvious the Advisory committee has a specific agenda they’re trying to impose on others.

There will be a 45 day public comment period on the recommendations given by the advisory committee where people can weigh in with their thoughts.
