A new cottonseed facility is coming to Sioux Falls that will provide this feedstuff for dairy farmers in the I-29 corridor year-round. Nigel Adcock is with Cottonseed, LLC out of Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He says there is great interest among dairy producers in the region to include cottonseed in the ration, but they need it on a consistent basis.

He says having a cottonseed warehouse located in Sioux Falls will provide a stable source and eliminate price swings.

Adcock says cottonseed offers a unique combination of 20-percent protein, 20-percent oil and cellulosic fiber that can easily replace other feed ingredients in the ration and save dairy farmers money.

Cottonseed, LLC is projected to the next few weeks.
