The head of Nebraska’s Department of Economic Development is hiring a chief financial officer and an internal auditor.

Courtney Dentlinger says the Department of Administrative Services will train and manage some of her staff to handle H-R and accounting work.

Dentlinger says another lawyer will be hired as well, to address a backlog of contract work.

Existing funding will be used to pay for the new positions.

The changes come following an audit of the department.
