Jon Doggett has been named the new CEO for the National Corn Growers Association. He says he wants to better listen to grower members and provide more value for their membership. Doggett who served as Executive Vice President for NCGA is taking over for Chris Novak.

He says corn growers need better demand for their product. They also want to open new markets and get the trade war resolved.

Doggett says trade opportunities need to be expanded for growers, but it will take the U.S. showing it can be a reliable supplier to customers around the globe.

Doggett says Congress knows America’s farmers and ranchers are in tough shape with farm income half of what it was five years ago. He says they must get the farm bill completed to provide producers the certainty and support they need.
