New Budget By House Republicans Boosts Defense Spending

The new budget proposal backed by House republicans passed with a big boost in defense spending for the next year. The budget calls for ninety six million dollars for defense, above the Obama Administrations projection of fifty eight billion dollars.
South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem says even with the extra spending, they have a way to cover it.

Noem says Congress will direct where the extra defense dollars go.

Noem says they will come back to the details later.

The House plan would cut spending by over five trillion dollars over the next ten years in an effort to balance the budget.
