Tuesday, New Angus LLC, the group that wants to open a Beef Processing facility in Aberdeen South Dakota met with Brown County Commissioners. New Angus CEO Doug Cooper says the meeting went well and things are progressing with their goal of opening the facility sometime this year.

Cooper says they still have some challenges but think they can overcome those.

Cooper says they’re looking forward to pending trade agreements with Pacific Rim nations through the Trans Pacific Partnership as well as the T-TIP deal between the U.S. and European Union. He says government agencies are doing a great job in trying to advance those.

New Angus LLC is looking to open their facility where the failed Northern Beef Packing plant was located near Aberdeen.
