Nelson Travels For Workforce Ideas

Yankton City Manager Amy Nelson was on the road last week, visiting towns and businesses in northeast South Dakota to get some ideas on workforce development and housing.

She says several businesses are actively involved in providing housing for their workers…

She visited Valley Queen Cheese in Milbank, and talked to officials about their recruitment of foreign workers through a visa program…

Nelson says that was a case where the company builds the housing…

Yankton is among the communities in the state struggling to find enough housing for an increasing workforce.
