Need for Unity in Cattle Industry Event provides insight

Yesterday various cattle organizations came together for a cattle industry event at the Black Hills Stock Show in Rapid City.  The “Need for Unity in the Cattle Industry” event featured representatives from the state’s congressional delegation, plus keynote speaker Dr. Gary Sides of Zoetis. R- Calf USA President Brett Kenzy says Sides gave an overview of the challenges facing cattle producers.

The event included a cattle industry organization panel with representatives from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the United States Cattlemen’s Association, and R-CALF USA. Kenzy says it was good for all the groups to show unity through the forum.

However, he says there is not a consensus in the cattle industry on a fix for the cattle market or the Grassley-Fischer cattle market reform compromise bill.

Kenzy says producers that have questions can stop by their booth at the Black Hills Stock Show.
