Nebraska Economic Development Director Courtney Dentlinger says her department will move quickly to address deficiencies disclosed by a recent state audit.

The audit conducted last year, prior to Dentlinger becoming director, disclosed sloppy bookkeeping.

Dentlinger says the department will soon hire an internal auditor to shore up its financial management.

Dentlinger says the audit discloses the department needs enhanced policies and procedures, especially in wake of recent resignations

The audit criticized the lack of documentation to justify a 14-Thousand-dollar settlement reached with former Director Brenda Hicks-Sorensen.
