Common Sense, a coalition of 30 Nebraska groups, is hailing State Attorney General Doug Peterson for joining other state AGs in their lawsuit filed last week against the EPA and the Corps of Engineers over their Clean Water Rule. Nebraska Association of Resource Districts Executive Director Dean Edson says the proposed rule is costly in terms of permits.

Troy Bredenkamp, General Manager of the Nebraska Rural Electric Association says the rewritten Waters of the U.S. rule creates costs and problems for his group.

Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says they’re going to fight this regulation on every front from the courts to Congress in order to get it thrown out.

Last week 27 Attorneys General filed legal action against the EPA and the Corps. And 12 agricultural groups led by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association also filed suit over the Clean Water Rule.
