Nebraska veterans will be able to receive special military honor license plates beginning next year.
The state began allowing veterans enrolled on the state Veterans’ Registry to obtain veteran-designated driver’s licenses this year.
Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles Director Rhonda Lamb says nearly 27-Hundred Nebraska veterans have taken advantage of the program. . .
In 2016, military honor license plates will be made available to those on the registry.
Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director John Hilgert encourages veterans to enroll in the Nebraska Veterans’ Registry, not just to get special driver’s licenses or license plates, but to better access Veteran Administrative services. . .
Hilgert says about 10-percent of the state’s 140-Thousand veterans have enrolled on the registry in the six months since its creation.
