Nebraskans Urged to be Careful with Anti-freeze Fluids in Garages

A cold Nebraska winter is right around the corner and many at home mechanics are topping off the antifreeze levels in vehicles.  The Nebraska Regional Poison Center reminds residents working in their garages to be extra careful with those fluids.  Public Education Coordinator and R-N Jean Hammack says antifreeze is toxic if consumed.

Hammack says often times people will put these fluids in soft drink or sports drink bottles.

Accidents can happen and that is why it is important to keep the Poison Center’s number programmed into your phone.  It is 1-800-222-1222.
