The Nebraskans United Coalition which has been trying to find a way to adequately fund K-12 education while providing significant property tax relief will be putting out their proposal next month. Coalition member and Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says their coalition made up of agriculture, education and public interest group members are finalizing details of their plan.
He says they’re working on improving Senator Tom (bree-zees) Briese’s LB 1084 which failed to pass last session.
Hansen says their Coalition will be meeting with State Senators early next month.
Hansen says the only way to fix the education funding problem as well as the high rate of property taxes is to address the revenue issue.
