Gasoline prices in Nebraska are the lowest they’ve been in 11 years heading into the first holiday of the summer season. Gail Weinholzer, at Triple-A-Nebraska, predicts the cheap pump prices will translate into a big boost in next weekend’s number of vacation travelers hitting the highways.
Weinholzer says around 90-percent of vacationers will be in motor vehicles, which is why gas prices are a key factor.
The state’s cheapest gas can be found in Omaha at two-19 a gallon, while the most expensive gas is in Kearney at two-38.
