The Nebraska women’s basketball team is challenging for the Big Ten title a year after having its worst season in program history.

The Cornhuskers have won five straight and eight of their last nine after a 62-47 victory over Illinois.

They could be playing for first place when No. 11 Maryland visits on Sunday. Second-year coach Amy Williams said the success has come faster than fans might have expected.
