Nia Coffey scored 17 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked four shots to lead Northwestern to a 59-51 victory over No. 21 Nebraska on Wednesday night.
Lauren Douglas scored 15 points off the bench for the Wildcats (20-6, 10-5 Big Ten), who have won six consecutive games. Ashley Deary and Karly Roser each added 10 points. Coffey turned in her sixth straight double-double.
The Cornhuskers (18-8, 8-7) made just 3 of 28 shots, including 0 for 9 from 3-point range, to trail 29-12 at halftime. They finished 19 of 65 for 29.2 percent.
Tear’a Laudermill led Nebraska with 20 points and Natalie Romero added 13. Emily Cady had 12 rebounds.
The Cornhuskers were down 19 points in the second half when they went on an 11-0 run to trail 46-38 with four minutes remaining. They trailed by six with two minutes left but couldn’t close the gap further.
