Nebraska Voters May See More Gambling Issues

Nebraska voters might again face questions on expanded gambling at the ballot box.
A group called Keep the Money in Nebraska has raised more than 250-Thousand dollars to circulate a petition to place an issue on the ballot asking voters to approve casino gambling at the state’s licensed race tracks.
Former state senator Scott Lautenbaugh of Omaha says this issue is broader than the failed attempts to allow betting on historic horse racing. . .

Lautenbaugh says this petition drive comes in three pieces. . .

If the drive succeeds, voters would decide whether casino gambling would be allowed on the state’s licensed race tracks. Revenue generated would be taxed at 20-percent, which would generate around 120-Million dollars annually.
