Two controversial election measures will return to the Unicameral.
Senator John Murante of Gretna will propose constitutional amendments to ask voters whether the state should require voter photo ID and whether it should return to winner-take-all in the presidential Electoral College.
The issues have run into roadblocks in the past, but Murante says an influx of 17 new legislators might make way for their passage . .

Murante wants to place the issues before the voters with the legislature drafting specific legislation if they win approval.

Murante also would like to ask voters whether the state should return to a winner-take-all presidential Electoral College, rather than distribute electors proportionally.
