Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts hopes the 600-mile expressway system can be completed now that the Unicameral has approved creation of the state infrastructure bank.

State legislators approved transferring 50-Million dollars from cash reserves and setting aside money generated from the gas tax increase to create a 450-Million dollar bank

Road projects will be prioritized based not just on traffic counts and safety concerns, but economic development and public input will be considered as well.

But, Ricketts says he will closely monitor how the 450-Million dollar bank operates

The expressway system was devised in 1988 and has yet to be completed.
