Nebraska Unicameral a Mixed Outcome for Agriculture

The 2018 session of the Nebraska Unicameral was a mixed bag for agriculture. Center for Rural Affairs Policy Associate Jordan Rasmussen says they did achieve a small victory with the passage of LB 731, which will make prescription medicines more accessible in rural areas of the state.

She says they were also pleased with the passage of rural broadband legislation.

However, Rasmussen says the legislature failed to approve property tax relief, but it was never properly debated.

Rasmussen says they’re already working on trying to get property tax relief legislation addressed when the legislature convenes next January.
