Nebraska Tax Relief Bill Advances

Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association leaders are pleased State Senators gave second round approval to an important property tax relief bill this week. Cattlemen’s Director of Legislative Affairs Laura Field says LB 959 is a helpful measure for funding schools. It will also assist them in keeping their levy’s lower thus providing relief for farmers and ranchers.

She says LB 959 is a good compromise between rural and urban schools and for agriculture.

Field thinks Senators will approve this bill and get it done before the session ends April 20.

Field says this measure and another property tax relief bill she expects to be approved are good starting points in addressing the property tax relief burden of Nebraska landowners.
