The Nebraska Supreme Court is considering an execution warrant for death row inmate Carey Dean Moore.
If its carried out, he would be the first person put to death with the state’s new four-drug protocol.
Nebraska College of Law professor Eric Berger says questions remain about the safety of the drugs and whether they will work in a humane way.
Berger says the drugs previously used are becoming harder to find.
He says several of the states carrying out executions use just one drug to end an inmate’s life.
The ACLU of Nebraska is challenging the state’s new protocol.
