Stenberg says unclaimed property can come from utility deposits, life insurance policies, uncashed paychecks, rental deposits or forgotten bank accounts. They also have some items unclaimed that were found in safety deposit boxes. He encourages Nebraskans to do a quick search at treasurer.nebraska.gov.
