Nebraska State lawmakers will wrap up their 2020 session today. So far, there have been several wins for the state’s farmers and ranchers according to the Nebraska Farm Bureau. State Government Relations Director Ansley Fellers says one important bill that received approval provides an exemption for producers hauling to farm storage sites.

She says the legislation closes a loophole that will keep producers from being ticketed when hauling grain to storage or market.

Fellers says State Senators also approved a broad band bill that will improve access to that service in underserved rural areas of the state.

She says the bill also creates the position of a State Broadband Director. Fellers says they saw positive initial movement for property tax relief and will likely push for more relief next session.
