Nebraska State Senators have been having deep discussions on broadband legislation with nine separate bills being considered. Senator Bruce Bostelman’s LB 338 has received first round approval and is one that is backed by the State Farmers Union. President John Hansen says if passed that measure will give consumers better broadband choice.

He says both Bostelman’s bill and the Governor’s measure contain many of the same components and are both good pieces of legislation.

Hansen says the Governor’s broadband bill is expected to be up for consideration in a couple of weeks.

Hansen says this session’s broadband bills are the best he’s seen for several years.
