In the first three days of the 2020 Nebraska legislative session, there have been 300 bills introduced including carryover measures from last session. That’s according to Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen who says that presents challenges not only for passage of needed agricultural legislation but for all measures.

He says one important measure impacting agriculture that’s come up early this session has to do with public lands management.

Hansen says there are also a number of measures that will need to be heard just in the Agriculture Committee alone.

Hansen says besides all that, State Senators will be facing the challenging task of trying to achieve meaningful property tax reform.
