State Senator John Murante says there were two convictions for voter fraud in Nebraska this year.
Even with that small number, he says more work needs to be done detecting and preventing the problem.
Murante says there are probably more instances that aren’t caught.
A legislative hearing will also look into so-called off-year elections.
Murante (murr-AN-tee) says Omaha and Lincoln city elections are in this category.
He says they wants to know if moving those in line with state and federal elections is a better idea.
Murante says voter knowledge of local candidates and voter turnout will also be discussed.
