The chair of the Nebraska legislature’s Performance Audit Committee says everything will be considered when it comes to revising tax incentive programs.
Senator John Kuehn says a new audit of two tax credits show more information is needed to evaluate their impact.
He says they need to create more specific definitions and require additional data from companies.
Kuehn says the laws that created many of those programs are too vague in terms of goals.
He says right now, it is hard to tell if the tax breaks companies receive are worth the cost.
As chair of the Performance Audit Committee, Kuehn says he wants additional data from companies.
He also says lawmakers have to better define success or failure of the tax incentives.
