A Nebraska state senator again will push for voter photo identification as well as other measures to ensure voter security.
Senator John Murante of Gretna, chair of the Government, Military and Veteran Affairs Committee, says 97-percent of Nebraskans already have qualifying identification. . .
Murante dismisses suggestions his bill would suppress some voters, such as the elderly and minorities. . .
Murante also proposes changes to state law which would verify voter registration rolls with information maintained by the Department of Motor Vehicles and Homeland Security.
