Nebraska State Patrol Superintendent John Bolduc says the patrol is reviewing policies in wake of an internal investigation into the conduct of seven members of the patrol.
One trooper has been fired; a Lt. Colonel and a Sergeant have left the patrol. Four others have been disciplined.
Bolduc says several changes will be made, including their investigative process. . .
Bolduc says public support and confidence is vital to the patrol. . .
Two incidents last year sparked the investigation. In one, a trooper sideswiped a fleeing vehicle to end a high-speed chase. The resulting wreck killed the suspect. In the other, a trooper struck a drunk suspect with his rifle butt.
